ANNUAL ODI-OLOWO OJUWOYE SPELLING BEE COMPETITIONS KICKS OFF TODAY

The annual Odi -Olowo /Ojuwoye LCDA Spelling Bee competition has kicked off today.
The competition took place at the Main Hall of the council.
The wife of the Chairman of the council and the President of the Wives of the Chairmen in Lagos State Alhaja Muheebat Omokehinde Ajala was the host.
In her welcome address Mrs. Ajala implored the students from various school to see the competition as a way of boosting their cognitive domains and should take the competition as a means of imbibe the reading culture.
She emphasised the needs for them to take their education serious and work hard to excel in their various subjects.
She said the competition was organized to prepare them for them for future challenges. She advised them to shun all forms of vices and distractions that would rob them off their set goals.
The competition included both primary and secondary school categories with over 50 participants. The primary session had over 40 contestants while the secondary school had Eight participants.
The competition started with the warm up session for the primary school Pupils and continued with knock out phase where contestants were eliminated until the required number of participants was achieved.
The primary session had Hammed Amina from St. Paul African Church Primary School, ilupeju as the winner, Adejare Modinat from St. Martins Primary School as the first runner up while Samuel Omogoriola from Shokunbi Primary School came second runner up in the primary category.
The secondary school session had eight participants from four schools with Balogun Dominion Kehinde from Ransom Kuti Memorial Senior Grammar School as the winner. Akinwale Temitope Shikemi from Ilupeju Senior Secondary School as the first runner-up while Jegede Ipoola Elizabeth also from Ilupeju Senior Secondary School emerges the second runner-up.
At the event were the leaders of the legislative arms Hon. Rilwan Ajenifuja, Majority leader Hon.Bamidele Idowu.Hon. Haruna Adeosun and Councilors from ward A1 Hon. Jegede, C1b Hon. Bode Adeosun and B1 Hon. Lookman Akinniyi.
Head of the Aministration in the local council development area Alhaji Shakirudeen Omotayo, HOD Agric. Mrs Akinola Moji Mrs Lawal HOD Education, Mrs Nofisat Akinyemi - Council Engineer, Mr Odu - Onikosi Internal Auditor, Barrister Modinat Solate Legal Officer, Clerk of the house Mr Akintoye Adedamola, Second signatory Mrs Folake Okoya and Public Affairs Officer, Mrs. Gbinigie Abidemi Oreoluwa.
Also at the event were the wives of the councilors from various wards and the wife of the Leader Mrs Ajenifuja.
From the Ministry of Education were Mrs. Akinfolarin and Mr. Ogunyemi. From the LGEA were Mr Sorungbe M.O, Mr Ojuroungbe O. A and Mr Ojelade M.O.
The Facilitator for the competition is Mrs. Amadi N.A. also present at the occasion are Mrs. Olajubu Christiana Funmi the Recorder and Mrs. Damilola Oladega as the Timekeeper.
